May & June Programs
- Girl Recognition: All Girl Scouts and their families are invited to attend this ceremony on May 3rd from 2:30-4:30pm. Special invitations will be mailed to girls receiving awards. Please register by April 27th. Call the council and leave the number of persons attending at ext. 220.
- Daisy & Dad: “Hawaiian Luau”: Daisy Girl Scouts and their dad (or other significant adult male) will spend the night nestled high atop Lookout Mountain exploring Camp Adahi. Participants will make crafts, hike, and enjoy songs and games. Saturday, May 16th to Sunday, May 17th.
- National Cemetery Flag Placement: Honor the veterans who served our country by joining together with Boy Scouts to place individual flags on graves on May 23rd. There will be opening ceremonies, brief comments by local officials, patriotic music, and a gun salute. After flag placement, participants will receive refreshments and a patch. There is no cost to attend, but please call council by May 18th and let us know how many will be attending from your troop. Troop leaders who have participated in the past tell us it s one of the more memorable events their troop did during the year. Placement begins at 8am at the Chattanooga National Cemetery on Holtzclaw Avenue in Chattanooga.

Amazing April!
Here's what is happening in April at your Girl Scout Council:- Fun at the Farm: Get a taste of what it’s like to take care of a real garden at Crabtree Farms on April 4th. We will discover more about our local environment and about how plants become food on the table. Session A: 4th/5th grade, 9-11am; Session B: 2nd-5th grade, 12-2pm (CLOSED); Session C: K-3rd grade, 3-5pm (CLOSED)
- Pin Orders and Final Reports Due for Bronze & Silver Awards: April 6th
- Keeping It Real—How Do I Look? (Session D): Grades 6-12. Get pampered at the Intl. College of Beauty, April 7th, from 6-8pm.
- Uncovering the Past: Grades 4-12. Spend the day in Atlanta discovering what the past can reveal. We’ll begin at the Tutankhamun Egyptian History and Art exhibit and then explore dinosaurs at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History on April 9th.
- Gold Award Exit Interviews: April 14th
- Browniefest (Thene: Hawaiian Luau): Grades 2-3 & Adult Male. Spend the weekend with dad at Camp Adahi. April 17-19th.
- Mall Madness: For all re-registering Girl Scouts. Spend the night at Hamilton Place with Girl Scouts on April 24th, 10pm to April 25th, 5am. $6 per person by 4/9, $8 from 4/10-4/16. The theme is The Wizard of Oz. We are having a costume contest, so please come dressed as your favorite character (Adults can dress up, too!).

March Memories
Make some memories in March with other Girl Scouts. Here's what your Girl Scout council has going on in March:- All About Me: Join us (Grades 6-9 along with your mom or other significant adult female) on Tuesday, March 3rd from 6-8pm at the Service Center to le[Photo]arn more about your health! We will be also be doing some stress relaxing yoga, too! Cost: $5 until Februray 19th
- Go for Gold: Want some more info on the highest award in Girl Scouting? Get all the info you need to get started on your Gold Award at this workshop for grades 9-12 and adults on Monday, March 9th from 6-8pm at the Service Center. Cost: $10 per girl and $5 per adult (includes workbook planning guide and forms)
- Project Runway: Do you have what it takes to make it in the world of fashion? This two-day design camp for 9th-12th graders will give you a glimpse at what it's like to be in fashion. From clothing design to hair and makeup, we'll be exploring different aspects of this industry on Wednesday, March 18th and Thursday, March 19th from 9am-3pm. Cost: $50 per girl (includes individually designed hair and makeup by a professional, materials for a design project, snacks & drinks)

February is Full of Fun
Here's what's going on in February from the council:- Go for the Silver: Workshop for girls (grades 6-8) and adults to see what the Silver Award is all about. February 2nd, from 6-7:30pm at the service center.
- Dancing with the Stars: Father/Daughter dances at Chester Frost Park. Friday, February 6th from 6:30-8:30pm (JUNIORS ONLY); Saturday, February 7th from 1-2:30pm (DAISYS ONLY); Saturday, February 7th from 3:00-5:00pm (BROWNIES ONLY); Saturday, February 7th from 6:00-8:00pm (BROWNIES ONLY)
- Keeping It Real (Design Star): Grades 6-12; Join us at Lowe's in Hixson to try your hand at building a special project for a Habitat for Humanity House and get your DIY side going on!
- Girl Scout Thinking Day: February 22nd
- Cookie Delivery: February 23rd-25th
- Cookie Booth Sales: February 27th-28th
